Project Profile

Project: Retail Stores

Location: Various Sites, Puerto Rico

Project Scope: INGENII performed all structural engineering and developed all architectural plans, details and specifications for the design of six 17,000 square foot commercial buildings for a major international retail chain in Puerto Rico. Design criteria required that the buildings be designed for hurricane force winds (120 mph) and seismic zone 3 earthquake forces. The structure was designed utilizing a metal deck roof supported on steel joists and joist girders with wafflecrete precast concrete panels for the exterior walls. INGENII also provided project management services, including scheduling and coordination of all other disciplines (MEP, civil and permitting subcontractors), and on site observation during construction. Through efforts to optimize the structural design of these buildings, INGENII’s client realized cost savings of over $3.50 per square foot over similar stores designed by other consultants.
