Project Profile

Project: Wallboard Manufacturing Facilities

Location: Various US sites (California, Alabama, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Indiana)

Project Scope: INGENII’s engineers performed structural engineering and architectural services for the design of five (5) new 500,000 square foot wallboard plants for an international wall board manufacturing company. Each building was 2500 feet in length and consisted of: raw material storage/handling areas with unloading facilities from barges or rail, wallboard process manufacturing, and finished product warehouse. INGENII’s engineers coordinated foundation work for the pre-engineered building, multiple pieces of reciprocating process equipment, pits, and unloading facilities. In addition, INGENII’s engineers designed structural steel framing for a complex process equipment block (27,000 square feet by 85 feet tall). Structural design criteria included design loads ranging from seismic zone 4 earthquake forces to wind speeds of 120 mph. Additional services included the design of various storage bins and hoppers, including a 1400 ton elevation storage bin, and coordination of the civil site work.
